How NewsGallery Works

NewsGallery brings media relations into the 21st century by automating many of the tedious, manual processes involved in emailing media releases to selected media.

Our online media release publishing and distribution platform allows you to prepare a media release using an innovative Microsoft Word template in an offline session, and upload the media release to www.newsgallery.com.au.

You are then guided through a simple process that generates a journalist distribution list tailored to your media release, by media category, type (covering both electronic and print media) and region.

Following entry of a prepaid code or secure online payment, your media release is then:

• Published to the NewsGallery index page
• Published to a dedicated page on the NewsGallery website
• Published to a secured PDF and sent to you for inclusion on your own website
• Converted to an HTML or text based email and distributed via email to selected journalists, editors, producers and newsrooms throughout Australia

At just $55 per media release including GST, NewsGallery is a value for money alternative to "standing at the fax machine" for hours.

Using the Media Release Template

The first step is to download NewsGallery's unique, reusable Media Release Template, which is a Microsoft Word form that can be completed offline using familiar editing features. You can save the form and send it to others for review.

You may reuse the NewsGallery Media Release Template as many times as you like. There is no need to download the form again unless we let you know there's an upgrade available. Simply save it to your own media release folder using a new name each time.

Publishing & Distribution

When you are ready to publish your media release, return to the NewsGallery website, log in, and upload your completed Media Release Template:

You will now be guided through a simple process that generates a journalist distribution list tailored for your media release. This includes selecting Media Subject Categories, Media Types and Media Distribution Regions. The more you use NewsGallery, the more you can refine your lists, because you save up to 3 lists for future use and editing.

When you have completed these steps and PayPal has verified your credit card payment, the NewsGallery engine takes over:

• Automatically generates a journalist distribution list
• Automatically distributes your media releases by email
• Automatically publishes your release on the NewsGallery website
• Links back to your website and emails you a PDF for your own use.
